Mancos RE-6 School District
The Mancos RE-6 School District sits in the heart of downtown Mancos. The district provides a comprehensive education for students and is a significant source of community pride. The recently renovated high school, constructed in 1909, is the longest continuously used high school in the State of Colorado. The 2018 high school graduation rate was 88.9% which greatly exceeds the state average of 80.7% (Colorado Department of Education).

The Town of Mancos and surrounding valley enjoy four distinct seasons and more than 245 days of sunshine a year. At an elevation of 7,000 feet, summer temperatures average in the mid 80s, cooling to the high 40s at night. Winter brings average highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. Nestled at the foot of the La Plata Mountains, Mancos normally gets several feet of snow during the winter and cooling afternoon monsoons in July and August.
